I have an old Squire P bass that i dont use much, so i after discovering the ease of it, i defretted it. the procedure went well, but i need to do some adjustments. the strings seem to be somewhere between a 1/4 and an 1/8 of an inch off the fretboard around the 1st fred, and oddly enough gets lower as it goes. That is much too high and makes the instrument difficult to play, so i need to figure out how to get the strings lower. i've lowered the action, but at the perfect hieght it touches the pickups (i can lower them, luckily) but around the higher frets i get a buzz from the strings touching the neck.
the neck looks slightly warped also, but that could just be in my mind. keep in mind this bass was only worth $180 new. i think i need to grind down where the strings set on the nut, but i dont want to mess it up...any suggestions?
